Spin Drift

(Sleeps 7)

Spindrift refers to the spray blown from cresting waves and the name reflects the unrivalled sea views to be seen from nearly every window in the house. With the one way glass over both bathrooms, you can even shower enjoying the hypnotic views of the sea.

Located in a quiet corner of the beautiful Cemaes Bay, Spin Drift offers a very special holiday experience and provides a great base from which to explore the North Anglesey Coast.

Spin Drift can sleep up to seven, the beach is only 200 yards away, there are stunning sea views and the fishing village of Cemaes with its pubs, local shops and a hotel is close by. The Anglesey Coastal Path runs along the side of the garden. One well behaved pet is welcome, although the garden is not dog proof, it is enclosed.

Property description

Ground floor

Well equipped kitchen with microwave, gas hob, electric oven, toaster, kettle, fridge, freezer, washing machine, (the tumble dryer is nearby in the conservatory alcove), pots, pans, etc. Superb view of the sea in two directions, and serving hatch through to the dining area.

Lounge/ dining room

The lounge dining area is an L-shape. The dining table with seating for six is next to the kitchen, connected by the very handy serving hatch. The dining table looks out through patio doors to the sea, and the Cemaes Bay beach, so you can enjoy the view while you eat.

Next to the dining area is an open plan relaxed sitting area, with a three seater leather sofa, leather armchair and rattan easy chair, yet another window with a spectacular view, and a log burning stove for cosy winter evenings.

Around the corner of the L- shaped lounge-dining area is a TV/ games area, with a flat screen 48 inch TV with Freeview, surround sound and DVD player. The surround sound also plays iPods, so do bring your music. There is also a coffee table, and a selection of games including Monopoly, Blokus, Chess and playing cards, for any rainy days – after you have come back from all the rainy day activities outside of course! The wireless internet box is also in the lounge. There is a comfy sofa and chair in this area, and a mirror that reflects the glorious sea view.

The conservatory catches the evening sun. A lovely place for a sundowner, or supper for 2, if you are not barbequing. From here you can watch for dolphins feeding off the point, the sun dropping into the sea, or the ships cruising across the horizon. There is a tumble dryer tucked away in an alcove of the conservatory. It is simply fitted out with a bar table and bar stools (tall so you can see the view), a raised sofa with foot stools, and a rocking chair. Enjoy.

Entrance Hall

Under floor heating to help dry everything out, great for a wet dog! A fitted cupboard for storage, and hanging space for wetsuits by the boiler, to ensure a dry wetsuit in the morning. Nothing worse than a cold wet wetsuit!

Bedroom 3 (Downstairs)

Ground floor bedroom that sleeps three in a triple bunk – a single over lower double bed. There is a bedside cabinet and a set of chest of drawers that provide plenty of clothing storage.

Shower room (Downstairs)

A stylish design curved walk-in shower with shower seat, toilet, heated towel rail, vanity unit and basin complement this smart bathroom.

Bedroom 2 (Upstairs)

A large bedroom, with plenty of space for a cot. Contains two single beds. There is plenty of storage space, with fitted wardrobes, and a stunning sea view.

´The best bit really was sitting in the garden watching the sun set every night without a drip of wind´

"Yes it was lovely thank you, all fresh and new and a fantastic hallway…. The basket of treats was a lovely surprise thank you very much and the showers were such fun. …the TV and Internet access was very useful for the children and so was the game selection but the best for me was the hall and the under floor heating which was great area when coming in from the beech all wet and sandy…. …The best bit really was sitting in the garden watching the sun set every night without a drip of wind….. it was to die for, I have watched that happen from that bay ALL MY LIFE ….. …..Thank you again for a lovely place to stay”

The surrounding area

On Anglesey, there’s something for everyone, whether you’re planning a family day out with the kids or a relaxing afternoon on one of our lovely sandy beaches, we hope you like some of the suggestions below:

North coast beaches

At the northern end of the A5025, Amlwch is a historic fishing village associated with the ‘Copper Kingdom’ of Parys Mountain whereas Cemaes Bay is an attractive beach resort, close to Cemlyn nature reserve and Church Bay (Porth Swtan) with its tall cliffs and the oldest fully restored cottage on Anglesey. The National Trust heritage coastline boasts mile after mile of uninterrupted walks along the coastal path. Also at Church Bay is the locally renowned ‘Lobster Pot’ restaurant and ‘Wavecrest’ coffee shop at the end of the coastal path with its speciality cream teas as well as many other homemade delicacies. This area is excellent for all water sports, cycling on the local and national networks, fishing at Llyn Alaw, walking the Anglesey Coastal Path or just quiet reflection.

East coast beaches

Benllech is a popular sea side destination. The Anglesey Coastal Path and the Wales Coat Path pass through Benllech. Lovely sandy beach ideal for building sandcastles and the rock pools are great for catching crabs! Beach rangers patrol the beach in the summer months and provide organised games for the kids. The beach is family friendly with toilets and refreshments nearby. In the summer holidays it’s a very busy beach but the beach is wide enough to find a quiet spot if you so wish. Sections of the beach are ‘No dogs’ but there are plenty of areas where dogs are allowed.

West coast and beaches

The west coast of Anglesey offers a wide variety of attractions and places to visit. Holyhead on the Holy Island in the north west of Anglesey is known as Ferry port but it has much more to offer with the ruins of an ancient Roman Fort, and the historic Church of St Cybi’s in the centre of town.

The beautiful beaches of Treddur Bay, Rhoscolyn, and Porth Dafarch are great for family days out. Rhosneigr is a famous water sport resort with a mouth-watering array of cafes and bistros.
